Spade Technology: Blog

Myles Keough, CEO

After graduating with a degree in Information Systems Sciences, I worked for an IBM AS/400 software company and helped introduce the Windows platform into their environment. Shortly after, I worked for the largest Microsoft Reseller at the infancy of their consulting division. This allowed me to work with both small venture capital companies and large global manufacturing companies. I then worked for an international Internet security firm – setting up new offices across the US. My last position was on the executive team of an eSolutions company wherein we experienced hyper growth during the .com era.

Throughout all of this, I was able to experience IT environments in large, small, fast, and slow companies. I felt there had to be a better way to provide IT services to small to medium sized businesses to give them the same, if not better, competitive advantages as large organizations. That’s where Spade Technology comes in: I founded the company in 2001 to deliver enterprise-class IT results for the average SMB’s budget.

I advise our clients on their technology and how to get the most out of every dollar they spend. I’ve always liked to teach, to coach, and to help people be or do better. My greatest strength is looking at the business problem first and the business solution second; then figuring out what technology is the right tool to achieve that solution. I think our “business first” approach differentiates us from the rest of the pack.

I enjoy watching our clients serve their customers and the world knowing we’ve helped them succeed and be a better organization overall. When I looked around a few years ago and saw my team around me, the values they embody and the passion they have for making our clients better, I knew I didn’t want to be anywhere else.

When I’m outside of the office, I thoroughly enjoy spending quality time with my family, whether it’s coaching one of their teams or playing in the backyard with them. I also enjoy golfing, the Pats, Sox, Celtics & B’s.
