Friend's Way Receives Donation of All-Inclusive Web Site from Spade Technology, Inc.

Spade Technology, Inc., has donated -- free of charge -- a new Web site, complete with hosting services and technical support, to FRIENDS WAY, a nonprofit agency that serves Rhode Island and Massachusetts children and their families, who need emotional support and guidance when coping with the death of a loved one.
According to Jennifer Kaplan Schrieber, founder and acting executive director of FRIENDS WAY, “The Web site and services provided by Spade Technology represent an incredible enhancement to our communications. Children and families who need our help are often scared, vulnerable, and uncertain about where to go and what to do to deal with their loss. The Web site helps them over this hurdle and eases them comfortably into our program. It explains how we have helped others with similar experiences. It describes the healing process that we use to help families adjust to their losses so they can move ahead. And it helps them open lines of communication with us more easily prior to coming to our office. The site is also an excellent source for referrals from other professional caregivers who might not know that peer-based support groups like FRIENDS WAY are available; for potential donors to learn about us, and for us to post information about special events, such as the Andre Tippett Celebrity Golf Classic, which is held each year to benefit FRIENDS WAY.”
