Job Description

Responsibilities
General IT consulting including: 

  • Desktop deployment and support
  • Server administration
  • Network administration
  • Excellent customer services

The Systems Administrator will be responsible for day to day IT support for small to medium businesses throughout New England but mostly on routes 128, 495 and in Boston. The majority of time will be spent at the client site. A history of high quality, technology solution building and outstanding customer service skills are essential. This is a high energy, demanding role which can require night work, weekend work, pager duty and 24/7 coverage. Highly motivated applicants that can work efficiently with little supervision are encouraged to apply.

Requirements:
  • Knowledge of Microsoft server and desktop operating systems (2003, XP and Vista), Exchange 2003/2007, IIS, and SQL.
  • Industry Certifications
  • Network administration experience
  • Experience with common business desktop applications (MS Office, Quickbooks, Visio, Project)
  • An understanding of IT security including firewall\VPN concepts as well as VPN client installation

Other Requirements (Preferred Skill Sets):
  • Experience deploying SonicWALL or Cisco Firewalls
  • Citrix knowledge
  • Experience with Symantec Corporate\Enterprise Anti-virus solutions and Ghost
  • Veritas Backup Exec
  • Wireless networking solutions
  • Windows Server Migrations, particularly Active Directory or Exchange
  • Compaq and Dell server hardware experience
  • Smartphone\PDA experience
  • Experience with any Microsoft back office solution a big plus (Sharepoint, CRM, Dynamics GP)
